Retaking the Exam

Candidates who fail an administration of the Certification Examination Part I may apply to retake the examination in accordance with the rules established and posted on the AOBEM website. Candidates still must meet the eligibility criteria and must re-apply as if they are taking the examination for the first time.

ADA candidates must contact the AOBEM office directly and must re-apply in order to obtain an appropriate accommodation. The candidate may not reschedule his or her accommodated examination without the written permission of the AOBEM.

No candidate may retake the Certification Examination Part I to improve their score for any other purpose than to pass an examination that they previously failed.
