Table of Specificity for Certification / Recertification
Written Examination

The Core Content represents the breadth of emergency medicine practice and has two functions. For AOBEM, it outlines the content and specificity of topics for examination in emergency medicine. Secondly, it serves as a guide in the development of graduate and continuing medical education programs for those involved in the practice of emergency medicine. Because emergency medicine is changing rapidly, the Core Content requires periodic revision.
